Euphorbia ingens, the candelabra tree, is a succulent tree that usually grows around 6-8 meters in its natural habitat, up to a maximum of 15 meters. The main stem develops like a candelabra by forming side stems. The local names for these are usually candelabra trees. The milky white sap of this plant is so poisonous that even plant lice are not attracted to it. Small greenish-yellow flowers bloom from the tips of the branches between fall and winter, and are said to withstand temperatures down to -4.5C. This may be true for South African Candlestick trees. Even so, don't trust them. I've seen them barely withstand -2C degrees Celsius. Even -1C degrees Celsius cold for more than a few hours (as long as a day) and they die. It is actually not good to grow them outside. Water as the soil dries out completely, using just enough water so that plenty of water comes out through the bottom holes of the pot. It is okay to leave it without water for much longer during the winter. For example, watering three weeks after the soil is completely dry. The product length is 165 cm.
